Gen. Banerjee's Talk Program

Maj. Gen. Dipankar Banerjee (retd.), Director of the Delhi based Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (IPCS) visited Nepal and gave a presentation on Resolving Internal Conflicts in South Asia. The Institute of Foreign Affairs had hosted the talk program which was attended by academics, diplomats, senior military and police officials and foreign ministry officials.



During his stay in Kathmandu, Gen. Banerjee called on Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Bhekh Bahadur Thapa, Foreign Secretary Madhu Raman Acharya and other senior officials. He had a separate meeting with Officiating Execuitve Director of the IFA Mr. Narayan Das Shrestrha. Deputy Execuitve Director of the IFA Mr. Nishchal N. Pandey hosted a reception in his honor at the Radisson Hotel which was attended by leaders of various political parties, foreign ministry officials and heads of various diplomatic missions stationed in Kathmandu.

A noted scholar and security expert of South Asia, Gen. Banerjee was previously the Executive Director of the Colombo based Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS) and also a senior fellow at the Institute of Peace in Washington D.C.
