Delegation from Chinese Institute of Foreign Affairs Visits Nepal

A delegation headed by Ambassador Lu Qiutian, President of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs visited Nepal at the friendly invitation of the IFA on May 29th 2004. Officiating Executive Director of the IFA Narayan D. Shrestha and Deputy Executive Director Nischal Nath Pandey received the delegation at the VIP bay of the Tribhuvan International Airport. Also present on the occasion was the Ambassador of P.R of China to Nepal H. E Sun Heping and other staff members of the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu.

The three member delegation had a joint meeting with the Board Members of the IFA on ways to strengthen ties between the two institutions and also on various aspects of the very close relations subsisting between the Kingdom of Nepal and the People's Republic of China. IFA Board Members Madhukar SJB Rana, Nabin Bahadur Shrestha, Prof. Dr. Biswo Keshar Maskey, Keshav Raj Jha, Former Executive Director of the IFA Prof. Dr. Mohan P. Lohani attended the meeting. A dinner was hosted in honor of the delegation which was attended by former Prime Ministers, diplomats, academics and journalists.
