The Institute of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Nepal Council of World Affairs and the UN Association of Nepal organized a one-day national seminar on "Nepal and the United Nations" at the Shankar Hotel, Kathmandu on May 18th 2005. It was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Nepal joining the United Nations. Rt. Hon'ble Vice-Chairman of the Council of Ministers Kirti Nidhi Bista inaugurated the seminar. Hon'ble Minister of Foreign Affairs and chairman of the IFA Board Ramesh Nath Pandey delivered an address on the occasion. Resident Representative of UN Systems in Nepal Mathew Kahane, Executive Director of the IFA Mr. Nischal N. Pandey, President of the Nepal Council of World Affairs Keshav Raj Jha and President of the UN Association of Nepal Prof. Dr. Biswo Keshar Maskay also spoke at the inaugural session.
