To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the kingdom of Nepal and the People's Republic of China, the Institute of Foreign Affairs organized a one-day seminar on "Nepal-China Relations" at the Hotel Yak & Yeti on April 13th 2005. Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon'ble Ramesh Nath Pandey inaugurated the seminar. Also, present on the occasion were the Minister of Finance Madhukar SJB Rana and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal H.E Sun Heping.

Five papers were presented during the seminar by Prof. Dr. Mohan Prasad Lohani, Hiranya Lal Shrestha, Pradeep Raj Pandey, Hira Bahadur Thapa and Nishchal N. Pandey. Over 50 academics, bureaucrats, former ambassadors and journalists participated in the meet. IFA will soon bring out a publication as proceedings of the seminar.
