Dear friends,

Welcome to visit the website of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nepal.

Marching into the 21st century, we have entered into the new era, which features speedy dissemination of information. As a result, the interactions among people from different parts of the world have been getting more frequent and intimate, and the Internet has enormously lessened the distance among people living in different nations. Looking back on the history of Sino-Nepal friendly relations, we feel gratified to note that our two peoples have deepened their friendship, and the bilateral relations are witnessing a more and more positive and encouraging trend thanks to more contacts and deeper understanding between our two people in different fields through various channels.

Along with the development of the Sino-Nepal relationship, the Nepalese people have become keen to get a better understanding of China. However, due to the geographical and economic reasons, the picture of China in the eyes of the Nepalese people up to now is still insufficient and incomplete. In recent years, the IT industry has been growing at a surprising speed in Nepal, and the local people here are having easier access to the Internet. The Internet has become an important means for people to obtain useful information from outside world. In order to help the Nepalese people get an overall understanding of China, be timely informed about China’s development, and conveniently get the service information of the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, we open this website.

I hope that through our website, this small window, all our Nepalese friends could gain some information on China and Sino-Nepal friendly ties as well, and all the visitors of this website could comprehend an old China with time-honored history and brilliant culture, see a modern China with incessant changes with each passing day and flourishing prospects. Meanwhile you are mostly welcome to put forward your precious suggestions and requirements by writing to us by E-mail so that we can constantly improve our service.

Sincerely yours,
Wu Congyong
Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Nepal
